Cole leads the energy and sustainability business in Arup’s 300 person San Francisco + Oakland offices, specializing in design, planning, and innovation in the new and existing built environment. He is a co-author of the book “Two Degrees – Our Built Environment and the Changing Climate” and has been a keynote speaker at numerous conferences. He is a published contributor to many peer reviewed journals and is a frequent guest lecturer at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. Most recently, Cole has led Arup’s WeatherShiftTM initiative to generate future climate data for over 1,000 cities around the world. Arup is an employee-owned firm of designers, planners, engineers, and consultants, working across every aspect of today’s built environment. Today, Arup employs more than 13,000 people, in more than 35 countries.
