Marianne leads Energy and IoT investing at GE Ventures.
She is passionate about new business models and the opportunity for new technologies to transform industry. She is particularly interested in the intersection of digital and physical and the opportunity for digital technology to transform our industrial sector.
Her team focuses on IoT, energy, smart cities, smart buildings, automotive, ag and interesting industrial applications of data. The portfolio includes: Bit Stew Systems (acquired by GE), Sensity (acquired by Verizon), Solar Edge (SEDG), TPI (TPIC), Stem, Sonnen, Resin, TTTech, Rigup.
Marianne is an experienced venture investor, start-up executive, and management consultant and has spent her career focused on bringing new technology to market. Prior to joining GE, she was a Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures where she invested in leading technology and energy companies. Previously, she was VP Marketing at ONI Systems and consultant at McKinsey & Company. Marianne started her career as a development engineer.
Marianne holds a Ph.D. EE from Stanford University and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia, where she is also on the Advisory Board. She has been named one of SV Women of Influence, top 10 Women in Cleantech, CVC Rising Star and has been frequently cited in the press.
