Principal, Market and Infrastr. Policy, CAISO
Dr. Lorenzo Kristov is a Principal in Market and Infrastructure Policy at the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). His main focus at present is to develop new market provisions to facilitate electric system transition from a central-station, fossil-fueled industry to a more decentralized, renewable-energy system, while maintaining a reliable transmission system and efficient wholesale power markets. In his 18 years at the CAISO he has led complex stakeholder initiatives, including redesign of California’s wholesale spot power markets and infrastructure planning procedures to integrate renewable and distributed generating resources, storage, and aggregations of small distributed resources.
